sculpture in the city

I have not met an outdoor sculpture I didn’t like. My introduction to sculpture gardens came at Brookgreen Gardens and at the Musee Rodin in Paris, which sounds pretentious, but I don’t mean it to be. Maybe it’s the weathering of the bronzes or the natural light, I don’t know, but I’ll take an outdoor display over a museum any day. (And I will detour for a museum at the drop of a hat.)

We are fortunate to have a few pockets of serendipity in our city, like this one outside the “big” library downtown. It’s a kid magnet, for sure, but I know at least one adult who could get lost in it.
